............................Hat Dance

We can't go to Disney World without doing the Hat Dance. They have so many funny and cute hats in the store, and we can't resist trying them on. We call it the Hat Dance, a Nascar phrase. Here's a scrapbooked page of this years hat dance!!!!

..............................Washington DC

Pictures taken while we were in Washington D.C. We took a trolley on a tour. It was really foggy that day so the monuments and buildings look like they r farther away than they really are. The colors were turning on the trees and made the pictures so much more beautiful.

.................................Heading home

The train trip is part of the adventure!! We are in Chicago waiting for our last train, we will travel from Chicago to Elko in about 40 hours. But the train is relaxing, I've read lots the past 2 days and slept soundly last night with the rocking of the train. I even have my electric blanket. :)
Oh, and the food on the train is great!! I had crabcakes, baked potato, salad and apple crisp for dessert last night. yum The crabcakes were delicious.
We traveled from Orlando to Washington DC where we took a tour of the capitol. The colors are changing and it was so pretty there around the potamic (sp) river. Then from DC to Chicago by way of virginia, Delaware, PA, Indiana.
Will post more pics after we get back. My goal was to have all my pictures scrapbooked on the computer before I got home, but I don't think that's going to happen.

......................Space Shuttle Launch

Yesterday was mostly a relaxing day, do laundry and watch football and Nascar. We did go to Downtown Disney in the morning and do a little shopping.
Today we slept in then this afternoon headed to Downtown Disney to exchange something. After we exchanged the item, we decided to ride the boat to the other side of DTD. The boat driver asked if we minded stopping in the middle of the lake to watch the Space Shuttle Atlantis launch. We were thrilled.
This evening we went to Hollywood studios and saw the Osborne lights. It seems strange that it's so warm here, and then to see all the Christmas lights and hear Christmas music.

.............................Day 4 Hollywood Studios

Today we met Danyell and Matthew at Hollywood Studios. Danyell is a friend from years ago from elko. We had a good time, Matthew entertained us on the Tower of Terror. After they left Kim and I went back and rode it 2 more times. No wait at the parks today.
This evening we had some dinner in the room and set out on the deck.

Sunset from our deck...

........................Day 3 Magic Kingdom

Today we were up early and at Magic Kingdom when they opened. We rode Splash Mountain first thing and got soaked. It kept us from getting too hot during the day. All the rides were no wait, just walk on. We had lunch at a chicken place, did a little shopping and headed to the room. It's much warmer today. This evening we went up to the Artists Palette for dinner then to bed.

............Day 2 Animal Kingdom

Today was FREEZING!! 60 degrees for a high. But, we are on vacation so we bundled up and went to Animal Kingdom. The park was empty. We rode the safari, expedition everest a few times and then braved the Kali River rapids. We wore rain ponchos for that one, but still got wet. No waits for anything, it was great.

I stopped for a popcorn snack and attracted some very annoying ducks. They followed us around until I threw the popcorn away.

Our resort..Saratoga spring Resort was really nice. We enjoyed the view and the housekeepers left us a surprise most days.

We came home that evening early and watched the movie "Up". I fell asleep before it was over.

We're Here!!

No pictures yet, but we FINALLY made it to Orlando. We checked into our room about an hour ago and are waiting for our luggage, because Disney picks it up and brings it to your room. My WAY YOUNGER THAN ME daughter is sleeping. She stayed up all night last night packing and is now tired. But I'm sitting on the balcony of our villa at Saratoga Springs Resort with my laptop, listening to the river roar by. It's beautiful out here, short sleaves weather!!!
It's very quiet here, the traffic was minimal on the ride from the airport, I've seen a couple of people in the group of rooms we are staying in, but that's ok with me, hopefully no long waits at the parks.

Our trip to Orlando

Woo Hoo We finally get to leave for Orlando On November 6th. We have been counting the days til we go. Well...I got up on Friday morning (November 6th) and the right side of my face was swollen all the way to my eye. It didn't hurt except when I pushed on it and when I tried to talk. I had been fighting a sinus infection so figured this was part of that.
I tried to get into my normal dr but she was double booked, so I went to the ER. Dr Jones told me I needed to take 2 different antibiotics. He told me if it didn't get worse I could leave on the trip. The train didn't leave until 10pm. By the time we got home it was noon. I tried to take a nap, when I got up my face looked worse and was starting to ache.
At 8:00pm we decided I couldn't take a chance that I would get worse and have to get off somewhere to be seen by a doctor so I called amtrak and cancelled half the trip...we are still taking Amtrak home. Then I went online to Delta and got us airline tickets for Tuesday which is the day we would be arriving in Orlando. I'm so disappointed but am so glad we didn't take off.

New Disneyworld Trip.....17 more days!!!

We leave for Disneyworld in 17 days. I can't wait!! It will replace the trip we had planned in March when Kim didn't have a legal drivers license (thanks to the new rules at the DMV that weren't passed on to the people of Elko) But it was a good thing because now we have something so look for.
We leave on the 6th and return on the 24th. I work the 6th, will get off work and hurry to get ready and make it to the train depot. The train leaves at 10:10pm. We have lots planned this trip. Since we are taking the train all the way to Orlando we have layovers in Chicago and Washington DC. We have plans to site see in both places. The train is so relaxing, we have a cabin all the way so can read, watch movies, surf the net, play cards and just relax. I will need that relaxation after the busy days we've had at work.

.......scrapbook pages of reunion

I have just started scrapbooking the reunion. Here are some of the pages I've done so far.

...........................More reunion ,1st day

We are finally home and getting back to a normal schedule. I wanted to post some more reunion pictures. We camped up above Cimarron, CO. We arrive on July 20th. We sat up camp and when everyone got settled it was dinner time. Noodle and Joy, Kim and I, and Craig and Amanda were in charge of dinner the first night. We had decided on mexican food. Noodle fixed carne asada steak on the grill. We deep fried corn and flour chips. Kim and I made salsa and Guacamole, Craig and Amanda made rice and beans.

By the time we finished cleaning up it was getting dark, so we sat around and visited.

Then a large group of us went to Craig and Amandas cabin and played cards.
I couldn't wait to crawl into the comfy looking bed in our cabin. I fell asleep quickly only to wake up to Kim shaking my bed. She could hear critters in the walls and after listening for awhile, I could hear them too. Needless to say, neither of us got much sleep that night. Our cabin was really cute, one room with 2 beds, running cold water, fridge, stove and microwave (we had electricity) But no bathroom.

The outhouse out behind the cabin was quite an adventure.
