tattoos

Tattoos are for bikers, gang members and sailors. Right???? Okay, that's what I used to think. Never in a million years did I think I would get a tattoo. But.....I now have 2. The first was for my 50th birthday. Kim talked me into going with her and we would get a tattoo together. I just wanted a small butterfly on my ankle. It ended up being slightly larger than I expected, but I liked it. I really wished I'd gotten something with my parents name on it though. Something that meant something. So...last year for my 51st birthday I did it again. This time, it was a butterfly with music notes (my dad was a musician, my mom sang) and my parents name. I love this one....but it hurt a lot worse than the last one and I swore I'd never get another.

Kim's tattoo. It's a combination of two album covers from one of her favorite groups "The Used".

Kim getting her tattoo. She tolerated it better than I did.

As you can see....I was a big baby.

Now the truth...they are addicting and I want another. Not sure if I'll really do it because I have run out of ankles and I like to put them where they don't show. But, I'd really like to have a tattoo of tinkerbell.
Then I remember that the day after I got the last tattoo I scraped a big chunk out of it and it got infected. It took twice as long to heal. I think a tinkerbell tattoo will never happen.

Happy new Year!!

Happy new Year everyone. Can you believe January is already half over. We have had lots of snow, and now lots of cold. Luckily Mike is still working, but they cut them to 4 days a week, which isn't unusual for winter with construction. The hospital has also been slow, so I've taken some days of call, which I don't mind once in awhile, but I hope it doesn't continue.
We've done a little ice fishing (brrrrrr, I about froze to death) and I am busy planning our Disney World trip. Hopefully it will be warmer there.
Hope everyone had a great start to the new year.
